MLB: National League, July 19, 2006: Houston Astros vs Chicago Cubs

Astros 4 to 2 over the Chicago Cubs. The pitching match up of the year, Maddux vs Clemons. Greg Maddux put on a "fielding your position clinic" but his mates fell short on the offense. Todd Walker's home run in the inning number 8, avoided the shut out. While getting 6 hits and played errorless baseball, our Cubbies still came up short.

Chicago, Il: Chicago Cubs 4, Houston Astros 1. Our Cubbies and Carlos Zambrano will hit the road to face the Nationals with a win under their belt's. Thurday "Z" was untouchable. Thru 8 innings Carlos allowed only 2 hits, 10 K's while walking 4 Astro batters.

The Chicago Cubs use a wrench on the Big Red Machine

MBL: Wednesday, April 12, 2006, Cincinnati Reds 1 the Chicago Cubs 4, in 9 innings. 39 year old Greg Maddux (soon to be 40) was the master of his own fate today. The Cubs used the errors committed by the Reds to their advantage as Dusty played Small Ball, bunts and double steals, stole the hearts of the Cub fans.

On a cold afternoon in April the home town Chicago Cubs warmed the hearts of all in attendance.... What was looking like a sure St Louis win went by the way of the Ford Falcon when Derrek Lee, launched a home run ball to the seats in left field.
