Chicago White Sox Sign Autographs to Support Organ Donation

Il. Members of the Chicago White Sox organization sign autographs and witness
the singing of organ donor cards. Chicago White Sox broadcaster, Ed Farmer,
underwent a kidney transplant in 1991. Illinois Secretary of State, Jessie
White was on hand to welcome and discuss the organ donor program to White Sox
fans.

attendance while an overflow crowd filled out First -Person Consent Organ/Tissue
Donor forms. On Jan 1, 2006, Illinois joined several other states in
implementing a First-Person Consent Organ/Tissue donor Registry, which makes a
person's wishes to be an organ/tissue donor legally binding. Additional
witnesses or family consent is no longer required for donation to
occur.
